What is a turbine generator?
A turbine generator is one of the major pieces of equipment in a power plant.
At thermal power plants, turbines are rotated using steam and gas generated by burning fuels such as coal, petroleum, natural gas, hydrogen or ammonia. A turbine generator converts the rotational energy of a turbine into electrical energy by connecting it to the turbine via a rotation shaft.
This electrical energy is used wherever power is needed, in homes, buildings, factories, stores and other locations.
