Mitsubishi Generator Receives Order for Five Units for Large-Scale GTCC Power Project at Taiwan Power’s Tung Hsiao Power Plant

2025-10-20

Mitsubishi Generator has secured an order for five turbine generators to be installed at the Tung Hsiao Power Plant operated by Taiwan Power Company (Taiwan Power) in Miaoli County, Taiwan. The generators will be supplied in collaboration with Mitsubishi Power, a power solutions brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. , which is providing the turbines for the project.

This project is being executed under a full turnkey contract led by Mitsubishi Power in partnership with CTCI Corporation, a leading engineering and construction firm in Taiwan. It involves the construction of a natural gas-fired Gas Turbine Combined Cycle (GTCC) power generation facility with a total output of 2,800 megawatts (MW).

Tung Hsiao Power Plant already houses GTCC equipment delivered jointly by Mitsubishi Power and CTCI in 2013, for which Mitsubishi Generator supplied nine generators that have been in operation since 2018 (referred to as Tung Hsiao I). The new order for five additional generators (Tung Hsiao II), scheduled to begin operation between 2030 and 2031, reflects the strong trust and recognition earned from Taiwan Power based on the proven performance and reliability of the previous installations.

Mitsubishi Generator remains committed to delivering high-quality, high-efficiency power generation solutions. Through its advanced technologies, the company continues to contribute to the stable supply of electricity essential for global economic development and to the realization of a sustainable, decarbonized society.
