2025-4-10
Mitsubishi Generator has received orders for total of six gas turbine generators to be installed in the Rumah-1 Power Plant in central Saudi Arabia and the Al-Nairyah-1 Power Plant in eastern Saudi Arabia. These generators will be supplied in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which will provide the gas turbines for this project.
These projects will be operated by a Special Purpose Company (SPC) funded by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), ACWA Power Company, the largest independent power producer (IPP) in the Middle East, and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO). The engineering and procurement will be handled by Doosan Enerbility Co., Ltd. of South Korea, with operations scheduled to commence in 2028.
The total output of 3,600MW represents approximately 2.5% of Saudi Arabia's national grid's capacity. These power plants will contribute to the stability of the power grid as baseload power stations.
Mitsubishi Generator will continue to strive for the proliferation of high-quality and high-efficiency generators, contributing to the stable supply of electricity essential for economic development worldwide, and to the realization of a sustainable, decarbonized society.
