Mitsubishi Generator Receives Order for Two Generators for Gas Turbine Power Plant in Ouazzane Province, Morocco

2025-3-5

Mitsubishi Generator has received an order for two generators for a gas turbine power plant to be constructed in Ouazzane Province, Morocco. Mitsubishi Generator will provide the generators for this project in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which will supply the gas turbines.

The Al Wahda Power Plant construction project, planned by the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) of Morocco, will be constructed with China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited (CEEC) and is expected to begin operations in 2027.

The power plant will be located near the Al Wahda Dam, the largest in Morocco, in Ouazzane Province in the northern part of the country. The two gas turbine units will have a total generation capacity of 990 MW, equivalent to approximately 7% of the Morrocco's national grid capacity, providing reliable electricity supply.

Mitsubishi Generator will continue to promote high-quality and high-efficiency generators, contributing to the stable supply of electricity essential for economic development worldwide, and to the realization of a sustainable, decarbonized society.
